North London Project

In this Victorian home in Cricklewood, North London, Narulas Design Studio reimagined the ground floor to create a cohesive, light-filled space that seamlessly integrates the kitchen, dining, and living areas. By removing a dividing wall and reconfiguring the layout, the studio transformed a previously segmented and narrow space into an open-plan environment that caters to both functionality and aesthetic appeal.

The design features custom joinery with warm off-white cabinetry, complemented by reeded glass inserts and brass hardware, adding texture and elegance. A central island, painted in a slightly darker cream hue, anchors the kitchen, while smoked glass pendant lights provide ambient illumination without overwhelming the space. The use of white zellige tiles as an extended splashback enhances the room's brightness and adds a handcrafted touch.

This Cricklewood project was a collaborative journey with the homeowners, where our shared vision centred around creating an interior that feels both effortlessly stylish and full of personality. From the outset, the brief was clear: the space needed to reflect a sense of sophistication while embracing the warmth and creativity of a lived-in family home. Working closely with the clients allowed us to craft a design that feels truly personal, merging playful elements with carefully considered, refined details throughout.

The interiors strike a delicate balance between liveability and polish—elegant enough to feel elevated, yet practical enough for everyday life. From bold colour accents and unique textures to curated art and custom furniture, each decision was made with the goal of achieving harmony between comfort and design integrity. The result is a home that is both inviting and visually engaging, where every room tells a story and flows seamlessly into the next.

Whether it’s the lively social spaces designed for entertaining, or the more intimate corners meant for relaxation and reflection, the home exudes a timeless charm with a contemporary edge. This project is a true celebration of character, creativity, and considered design—an environment that feels as joyful as it is elegant.
